The Village of Steveston is situated at the southwest corner of Richmond BC where the Fraser River (south arm) flows into the Georgia Strait. Steveston is a working fishing village of historical importance to the province. It is the most important tourist attraction in Richmond. In 2002, Steveston was chosen to host this fleet of vintage (and replicas) sailing vessels on its tour of North America. Their berths were scattered in close proximity to the present day fishing fleet creating some marvellous visual juxtopositions. These images were taken on the last day of their stay and includes the departure of some of them. The weather was fabulous (sunny, clear skies and warm) during the whole event. There is an additional event planned for 2005.
