The Port of Vancouver is the busiest seaport in Canada. A short distance from the Pacific Ocean it is situated in sheltered Burrard inlet and operates year round. Activity is constant and of great variety. In addition to cruise ships (in season), freighters handling manufactured good as well as raw materials, there is constant traffic of seaplanes, helicopters and public transit ferries. Vessels waiting for berths usually anchor in English Bay until their cargo is ready for loading. Some images of freighters in English Bay can be found on the port activity page. This is a BUSY place with lots to see and enjoy.
